Community
We’re a church that wants to see people of every age and stage have the chance to hear about what Jesus has done and grow as followers of him. This includes kids, youth, families, singles, adults and seniors. Whatever stage you’re at, there are a number of church groups which can help you find out about Jesus and grow in your faith.St. John’s Kids
We want to see kids have a chance to hear about what Jesus has done and learn about him in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
On a Sunday, kids start the service together with the whole church family. About halfway through the service there is normally a short kids talk and song so the kids have a chance to hear the Bible taught for them.
During the school term, kids in Kindy or Primary School are then invited to join us in the church hall for St. John’s Kids for the second half of the service. In St. John’s Kids we teach the Bible in an engaging and interactive way just for kids.
Younger kids are invited to join us in our creche rooms for St. John’s Toddlers where we hear a Bible story and enjoy interactive play.
Youth Group

Our Youth Group is for young people in high school and upper primary and meets every Friday night from 7pm to 9pm.
We love to hang out, read and chat about the Bible, pray, play games and eat together. Youth group is a fun, comfortable and safe environment in which young people are free to ask questions as we explore together who Jesus is and what he’s done for us.
Child Protection & Leaders
All of our Sunday School and Youth Group teachers are carefully selected from within our church family and trained for working with children. Our teachers are faithful Christians who are committed to providing a safe and engaging learning environment for children. All of them hold blue cards from the Commission for Children and Young People, and have undertaken child safety training. You can find a copy of our child protection policy at Safe Church.
Growth Groups
Growth groups are small, informal groups which meet together during the week to read and discuss the Bible together, to encourage each other, to pray for each other and to help each other grow as followers of Jesus.
Growth groups are also one of the main places where we can care for each other when we are struggling or in need.
We have groups of a variety of ages and demographics which meet during the week.

Community Library and Seed Bank
For those who love a good book St. John’s on Geddes had a Street Library on Cranley Street for the use of the local community. Why not pick up a good book or leave a book for others? You are also welcome to make use of our Seed Bank for your garden.

Pastoral Care
The volunteers of our Pastoral Care group do a great job caring for those in difficult circumstances or those who would like practical and emotional support. The team meets once a month to pray for those in our church and to discuss how to care for each other best.
